These two pieces were made for a house in the Target Range area of Missoula.  The client wanted a look other than a monochromatic paint, so I gave the steel an acid wash patina.

A fun project, utilizing forged components.

Something of a design challenge.  The designer wanted to use some oversized planks salvaged from an old mill to create this bannister.  But, I couldn't cut the edges and ruin the old wood look.  And, for code, we had to maintain a less-than-four-inch spacing.  I made it work, with two short boards to spare.  It ended up looking a bit 'heavy' for the space in my opinion, but the clients were happy.  As they say, it is 'hell for stout!'.

A client who lived alone, and with the bedroom on the upper floor, had worries that she might sleep walk and fall down the stairs.  The gates that are available commercially to keep small children or pets from falling were too flimsy, too short, and did not look very good.  She wanted something artsy.  I built this gate for her, including the custom latch.
