Kodiak This life sized welded steel sculpture is based on the size of the largest Kodiak bear in the Boone and Crocket records. It is about eleven feet tall. It incorporates stainless and mild steel, with river stones in the base. My father, Bill Ohrmann, and I worked together on this piece in the summer of 2012. |
"Eight Seconds Flat"
I was asked to submit a piece for an auction held in conjunction with the Drummond Rodeo. My partner suggested something with a rodeo theme, so this is my rendition of the calf roping competition. Eight Seconds Flat refers to the time for the cowboy to rope the calf, jump off his horse, and 'hog tie' the calf. I have to admit that some cowboys who have seen it think that, with the loop the way it is, the calf probably got away. The calf is approximately life sized. |
Mayfly
The mayfly figure is approximately two feet long, and mounted on a stylized grass stem a bit above 'eye level'.
